Clear technology advice before you spend on software.

Straight technical advice for decisions that are expensive to get wrong: what to build, what to buy and what to leave alone.

  • Strategy
  • Fractional CTO
  • CRM & ERP
Service overview

Clear technical advice before you spend money on software.

What it is

  • Choosing between a ready-made CRM and a custom build
  • Technology strategy, architecture and software selection
  • Fractional CTO and technical leadership
  • Written recommendations you can act on with anyone

The problem it solves

  • Platforms chosen because a salesperson was persuasive
  • Custom builds started when a ready tool would do
  • Projects stalled with another vendor
  • Growth planned on code nobody has checked

Who needs it

  • Founders without a technical co-founder
  • Companies with a stalled or failing project
  • Businesses preparing to scale, raise funds or be acquired
  • Teams choosing a CRM or ERP

Why it matters

  • Expensive mistakes are made early
  • Vendors and AI tools are multiplying
  • A neutral second opinion costs far less than a wrong platform
  • Clear decisions save months
Common problems

Where technology decisions go wrong.

Most of the problems we are asked to look at started as a decision made without enough information.

  • Quotes that don’t agree

Three agencies quote three very different prices and stacks for the same idea. Without a technical person on your side, there is no way to tell which one is realistic.

  • A project that has stalled

Deadlines keep slipping, the vendor has gone quiet or the code has been handed over with no documentation. You don’t know whether to rescue it or start again.

  • The wrong tools for the job

A CRM, ERP or custom app was chosen before the process was understood. The team works around it with spreadsheets, and the licences keep renewing.

  • No one owning technical decisions

The founders make technical calls on instinct because there is no CTO yet. Hiring, architecture and vendor choices pile up without a clear plan.

What it costs the business

  • Budget spent on software that has to be replaced or rebuilt.
  • Launches delayed while problems are found late.
  • Investors or buyers finding risks before you do.
  • Teams losing time to manual work and tools that don’t fit.

You probably need this if

  • You have agency quotes and no way to judge them.
  • Your product works but nobody has checked the code behind it.
  • A vendor has missed deadlines and you are unsure what to do next.
  • Your team runs the business on spreadsheets and chat groups.
  • You want to use AI but don’t know where it would actually help.
  • Investors or a large customer are about to review your product.
What’s included

IT consulting services we offer.

  • 01

    Technology strategy

A plan for your product and systems that matches your stage, team and budget. We decide with you what to build now, what can wait and which parts are better bought as SaaS, so money goes where it changes the business.

  • 02

    Software architecture review

An independent look at your code, infrastructure and delivery process before you scale, raise funds or take over from another agency. You get the top risks ranked, with prioritised fixes and a rough effort for each, including security basics such as access, secrets and backups.

  • 03

    Technical due diligence

A structured review of a product’s architecture, code quality, security, running costs and team before an investment, acquisition or large contract. The written findings are clear enough for investors or a board who don’t read code.

  • 04

    Digital transformation roadmaps

A step-by-step plan for moving work off spreadsheets, email threads, paper and chat groups onto software your team will actually use. We map the current process first, then phase the change so daily operations keep running.

  • 05

    Vendor and tool selection

Help choosing between SaaS products, ERPs, CRMs, cloud providers and development partners, with a shortlist, a comparison against your requirements and questions to ask in demos. We take no commission on the choice, so the only thing we gain is your trust.

  • 06

    Fractional CTO

Part-time technical leadership for founders who aren’t ready for a full-time hire. We join planning, review estimates and pull requests, talk to vendors on your behalf and help you hire the engineers who will eventually take over.

What you gain

What good technical advice gives you.

Clear decisions, made early, with the reasons written down.

  • Decisions you can defend

A written plan that explains what to build, buy or fix, and why. You can share it with your board, investors or team and it still makes sense.

  • Money and time not wasted

Build vs buy decisions, code reviews and vendor checks catch expensive mistakes before you commit to them. A second opinion costs less than a rebuild.

  • A product ready to grow

Architecture and security problems are found and ranked before you scale, raise funds or sign a large customer, so growth doesn’t stall on technical debt.

  • Systems that fit how you work

The right CRM, ERP or custom tool, chosen against your real process, replaces manual work and duplicate data entry across the team.

  • Better software for your customers

A product built on sound decisions is more reliable and easier to improve, so the people using it get fewer problems and new features sooner.

How it works

From first conversation to a written plan you can act on.

A focused assessment usually takes one to three weeks, depending on how many systems and people are involved. Ongoing advisory work runs month to month after that, only if you want it.

  1. 1

    Day 1

    Introductory call

A short video call about the decision you are facing, what you have today and what a good outcome looks like. An NDA is signed before this call.

  2. 2

    Within 7 working days

    Proposal and scope

A written proposal covering what we will review, who we need to speak to, what you will receive at the end, the timeline, the price and the hours we will be available for calls.

  3. 3

    Week 1

    Discovery and access

We interview the people who use and build the systems, read the code, contracts and documents you share, and look at how things work in practice rather than on paper.

  4. 4

    Week 1–3

    Analysis and options

We compare options on cost, risk, time and how well your team can run them. Where it helps, we test a tool or build a small proof of concept instead of guessing, and send written progress notes along the way.

  5. 5

    End of assessment

    Written report and walkthrough

You get a written report with findings, ranked recommendations, a roadmap and estimates, then a call to walk through it. A follow-up review a few weeks later checks how the plan is going.

Who we advise

Who our technology consulting is for.

A request for technical advice usually comes with one pressing decision attached. These are four common ones, wherever the business is based.

  • Founders without a technical co-founder

You are in the US, the UK, the Gulf or Australia, with an idea or an early product and agency quotes that don’t agree. We help you scope a first version, choose a stack, judge the quotes and, if you want, act as your fractional CTO until you hire one.

  • Companies abroad with a stalled project

Another vendor has missed deadlines, gone quiet or handed over code nobody understands. We review what exists, tell you honestly whether to rescue it or restart, and give you a plan to finish either way.

  • Businesses preparing to scale, raise or buy

Investors, an acquisition, a large customer or a jump in traffic are about to test a product. We run technical due diligence on architecture, code, security and costs, so the problems are found before someone else finds them.

  • Indian companies going international

You are selling into Europe, the Gulf or North America, and customers ask about data location, security and uptime. We review your systems against what those markets expect and plan the changes in order of priority.

What you get

Deliverables, in writing.

Every engagement starts with a written scope that lists these, with dates and a price.

  1. Current-state assessment
  2. Written recommendations
  3. Roadmap and estimates
  4. Follow-up review

Why Amionyx

Why ask a consulting team in India for technical advice.

  • No commission, no hidden agenda

We don’t earn referral fees from software vendors or partners. If another company or product suits you better, we recommend it by name, and if the answer is don’t build, we say so.

  • Findings you can check

Architecture reviews and due diligence are done by reading the code, the infrastructure and the contracts themselves. Each finding points to a specific file, setting or clause, so your team or vendor can verify it.

  • Advice from people who build

The people who advise you also design, code and deploy software. Estimates and warnings come from delivery work, so they account for testing, hosting and maintenance as well as the first build.

  • One person from first call to follow-up

Whoever you speak to on the first call does the review, writes the report and runs the follow-up a few weeks later. That costs less than a comparable consultancy in the US, UK or Australia, which makes a second opinion affordable before a large decision.

  • Advice written for your business

Recommendations, estimates and trade-offs are based on your systems, team and budget, and delivered as a written report you keep. You can hand it to your own team, another vendor or an investor.

Pricing

How is IT consulting priced?

Consulting is priced on the size of the question, not on a fixed day rate for every job. After a short call we send a written proposal with a fixed price or an hourly rate, so you know the cost before we start, wherever you are based.

Starting from $49

Get a written quote
  • Fixed-price assessment

For architecture reviews, technical due diligence, vendor selection and transformation roadmaps. One price for an agreed scope, ending with a written report and a walkthrough call.

  • Fractional CTO retainer

For founders who need ongoing technical leadership. A monthly retainer for an agreed amount of time each month, with meeting hours set around your time zone and adjustable as your team grows.

  • Hourly advisory calls

For a second opinion on a quote, a design decision or a vendor contract. You book time as you need it and pay only for the hours used.

What changes the cost

  • Number of systems, codebases or vendors to review
  • How much documentation already exists
  • Number of people and teams we need to interview
  • Whether a proof of concept or tool trial is needed
  • Depth of report: summary findings or a full roadmap with estimates
  • Timeline: an investor, board or deal deadline may need more hours sooner
FAQ

IT consulting from India: questions we’re asked.

Working with us from abroad? Time zones, contracts, payments and NDAs, answered in one place. How we work with international clients

  • Consulting is mostly reading code and documents, interviewing people and writing up options, all of which work well over video calls and shared files. You get people who build software reviewing your decision at a lower cost than a comparable local firm, so a second opinion before a large spend is easier to justify.

  • A written report with the findings ranked by risk or value, a recommended option with the reasons for it, a roadmap and rough effort estimates. We walk you through it on a call, and a follow-up review a few weeks later checks how the plan is going. The report is yours to share with your team, another vendor or investors.

  • Buy when a ready tool covers most of your process and you can adapt the rest of your process to it. Build when the process is what sets you apart, or when licences and workarounds would cost more over a few years than a custom tool. We compare both against your real process and costs before you commit.

  • A fractional CTO is a senior technical lead who works with you part-time. It suits founders who need someone to own technical decisions, manage vendors and plan hiring but aren’t ready for a full-time CTO. If your product is simple and a good vendor is already delivering, you may not need one yet, and we will tell you.

  • Architecture, code quality, security basics, infrastructure and running costs, delivery process and the team behind the product. You get a written report of the risks, ranked by severity, with the likely effort to fix each one, written so non-technical investors can follow it.

  • Yes, whether a project has stalled or you simply want a second opinion before paying the next invoice. The review covers code quality, architecture, security basics, delivery process and running costs, with the top risks ranked.

  • Yes. We take no commission from software vendors, cloud providers or development partners. We recommend the product or company that fits your needs and budget, including options we don’t work with. Consulting is also separate from building: you can take the report to any team you like.

  • We sign an NDA before the first call, access only what the review needs, and return or delete shared material at the end if you ask. We keep laws such as GDPR, the UAE and Saudi data protection laws and India’s DPDP Act in mind, though we don’t give legal advice or certify compliance. Everything we write for you belongs to you.

  • A focused review of one product or decision usually takes one to two weeks. A wider assessment across several systems or departments takes around three weeks. The proposal gives you the exact timeline before we start.

  • It depends on the retainer, but most weeks include a planning call with you, reviewing estimates and pull requests from your developers or vendor, and answering technical questions as they come up. Around that we might draft a job description, interview a candidate or check a vendor’s proposal. You get a short written note of what was decided and what needs your attention.
